Who We Are

The Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Family (SHF) is an indigenous religious congregation founded in 1979 by Bishop Boniface Nyema Dalieh, Bishop Emeritus of the Diocese of Cape Palmas. Rooted in the inspiration of the Blessed Trinity’s love, unity, and sharing, we draw strength from the Holy Family of Nazareth, whose values of love and sanctity we strive to live out daily.

As Apostolic Women Religious of the Diocesan Rite, we are deeply committed to glorifying God through lives of service, faith, and unity. Our mission is to promote Christian family values, uphold the sanctity of marriage, and preserve the essence of family life within the Catholic Church and wherever we are called to minister.

For over four decades, we have dedicated ourselves to empowering communities, nurturing families, and spreading God’s love through our diverse ministries. From education and healthcare to social work and youth ministry, our work reflects our unwavering commitment to being instruments of love, unity, and faith.

Our Apostolate

The Sisters of the Holy Family are engaged in diverse ministries, including:

Encouraging and supporting individuals in discerning and embracing their call to religious or lay vocations.

Providing compassionate care and promoting health in communities.

Strengthening and supporting Christian families to live in faith, unity, and love.

Supporting young people’s spiritual, emotional, and educational growth.

Pastoral | Catechesis

Deepening the faith of individuals and communities through catechesis and spiritual guidance.

Empowering individuals and families with skills for self-reliance and better living.

Addressing the needs of the marginalized and vulnerable in society.

Holy Family Companionship

The Holy Family Companionship is an association founded by the Sisters of the Holy Family with the assistance of Fr. Peter Paase, MSP, in September 2016. This group comprises individuals, families, friends, and well-wishers who share in the mission and spirituality of the Sisters through prayer and financial support. Members of the Holy Family Companionship are called to live out the values of love, unity, and simplicity exemplified by the Holy Family of Nazareth, their patron.
